Types Of Windows For My Home

There are a variety of windows and styles to fit any type of home. All of these different types of windows provide their own benefits and uses. Below are images, descriptions and the benefits of each window type.

Single Slider Windows

These windows have one sash that is fixed. The other sash slides from side to side offering options for breezes. Since single slider windows do not open outward, they are ideal for rooms near shrubs, trees, walkways, and patios.

Single Hung Windows

Single hung windows have two sashes which sit vertically on top of each other. The top sash is stationary, and the bottom sash slides up to open. The bottom sash also tilts inward when needed for ease of cleaning. Since single hung windows do not open outward they are great for places in your home near bushes, trees, walkways, and patios. They are perfect for more narrow windows which would hard to fit a slider window.

Double Sliders and Double Hung

Double hung windows are similar to their single hung counterparts except that both windows slide instead of only one of them sliding. These windows are great for homeowners who want to be able to clean their windows from the inside of their home. They are also ideal for people who like big breezes as you can open them from both sides!

Picture Windows

Picture windows offer clear, unobstructed views. That is because they’re one huge piece of glass letting in natural light and making any space brighter. Because they do not open, picture windows have no moveable sashes or hardware to obstruct the view.

Geometric Windows

These windows include any window that is not the standard size. They have odd shapes like trapezoids, french arches, or triangles. They are just as energy efficient as all the other windows we sell at Conservation Construction of Houston.

Casement Windows

Casement windows are great at giving you air circulation in your home. They still offer big views like Picture windows, but hinge at the sides so you can let in breezes.

Garden Windows

Garden windows are found most often in kitchens and bathrooms. They offer a way to brighten up a space and add room for plants and knick-knacks.
