Wouldn’t it be great in life if we had a be all fix all solution to our problems. I always thought that this would come in the form of magic. Like the entire book of Harry Potter would just manifest, and we could all start conjuring up a spell to do all of our chores for us. Unfortunately, this has not happened (although we can still hope, right?) Sometimes a psychic might tell you they know all the answers too, but who really does? It seems like all we can really do is do the best we can with the tools that we have. Maybe one day that tool will be a magic wand. Until that happens, there are many quick fixes out there to help us solve our problems.
This leads me to the article today. Broken window seals are a huge problem in the world we live in. It is rare to see anybody putting “Replacement Windows” at the top of their priority list however. This is because there are so many quick fixes to try and forget about the problems literally staring us in the face. It is easy to simply caulk the window and act like that fixed the problem. Or worse, people just cover up the problem with huge blinds which block the windows but also block the sun. Your house could end up looking like the underground room in “Tales From The Crypt.” As a person neither a fan of crypts or dark places, it takes a lot for me to go into a person’s house which has all the windows covered up.
Take it from a person who had bad windows and attempted to repair them herself, this doesn’t always work the way you want it to. Sit back and relax as we regale in my beloved tale of cracks and caulk . . .
Our front window would spill a constant stream of water onto our living room floor every time rain would pass by. We didn’t realize this was happening until after we went on a weekend getaway. We came home to an entire pool of water on the living room floor. After sopping up the problem at hand, we used caulk to seal the window. We let it rest and dry just as the instructions had said. The next time we left and a storm was on the horizon, we pushed the window to the back of our mind, after all, we had sealed it up, right? Not so right. We came home to find the same window leaking. It was letting the same amount of water into our house and onto the floor.
We knew when we moved in that the window glass needed to get repaired or replaced. We couldn’t have known the extent of the window damage. Seals fails are quite common and easy to spot. If you have this problem you have what the industry likes to call “Foggy Windows.” Window seal failure causes condensation to get stuck between the two glass panes making cleaning impossible or a “pane in the butt.” At this point the window has lost all of its insulating gas and energy efficient properties. The seals that hold the glass together could have melted as well, warping the glass or making the glass sit wonky in the window frame.
Instead of just caulking over the problem like I did, there is a better solution to this problem. It’s a bit of an investment, but New Windows truly can fix all of these problems, and you won’t worry about your repair needing to get done again. And say goodbye to condensation being stuck between the glass. Finally, that worry of rain leaking into your home will be a thing of the past. On top of this, we do all the work for you so you can just sit back and enjoy the views of your new windows.
New windows will improve your home’s energy efficiency for years to come. We offer double or triple pane windows. We make our process of window installation easy. With our Lifetime Warranties you’ll get a window that shines for years. If anything ever goes wrong with your windows we fix it for free.
In conclusion old windows seals fail easily, new windows don’t. It’s easy to convince yourself that repairing the window is a better solution. However, if you fix the entire problem with a new window you won’t ever have to worry about your windows again. Leave a comment below and let us know what you think. If you are struggling with your own home window problems we’d love to hear about them.
